Consignment software that keeps other people’s stock apart from yours

Consignment goes wrong in two places: nobody can say what the consignor is owed, and the sale is reported as if the goods were yours. Both are record-keeping problems and both are avoidable.

Exports to Xero and Sage.

Terms, floors and payouts

Each consignor has terms, and each piece has a floor below which it is not yours to discount. When it sells, the payout is calculated from the terms rather than from memory, and what is owed is visible before the consignor rings to ask.

Memo out is tracked as its own state: the piece is with another dealer, it is not sold, and it is not in the window.

Whose turnover is it

Goods held on consignment are not your stock and a consigned sale is not wholly your turnover. Milleso holds consigned pieces distinctly so the reports and the VAT summary do not silently count someone else’s goods as revenue.

Deposits are held apart from revenue on the same principle. Money that is not yet yours does not flatter the month.

Questions

How is a consignor payout calculated?
From the terms recorded against that consignor and the floor recorded against that piece, at the moment of sale, rather than from a note in a diary.
Does consigned stock count as mine?
No, and it is held separately for exactly that reason. It is not your stock on the reports and a consigned sale is not treated as though the goods were yours.
Can I put a piece out on memo?
Yes. Memo out is its own state, so a piece with another dealer is neither sold nor available.
