A jewellery POS system that knows how the piece was taxed

Most tills can take the money. The question at a jewellery counter is what the piece was, what it truly cost after the bench, and which VAT regime the invoice has to be written under. Milleso answers those at the point of sale rather than at the end of the quarter.

Exports to Xero and Sage.

The invoice writes itself correctly

Each piece carries its VAT treatment from intake. When it sells, the invoice picks up the wording that treatment requires: a margin scheme invoice that must not show a VAT figure, a reverse charge invoice for gold at metal value, or a standard rated invoice where the stock was bought with a VAT invoice.

That is not a preference stored on the customer. It is a property of the piece, decided by a dropdown at intake, and the till reads it.

Part-exchange, deposits and what is not yet yours

Part-exchange is a purchase and a sale in the same transaction, and it is where counter systems usually lose the audit trail. Milleso records both sides against the piece and the client.

Deposits are held apart from revenue rather than counted as a sale, so the reports do not flatter the month. Cash is watched against the High Value Dealer threshold, with a warning at nine thousand pounds before the ten thousand pound registration duty bites.

Who at the counter can see what

Five roles, and the one that matters at a till is sales: stock, clients and the till, with no cost prices, no VAT screens and no compliance. Cost columns are not hidden in the browser, they are never fetched, so a Saturday assistant cannot find them by looking.

The modules behind this page, and the plan that opens each. This table is generated from the rule the software enforces, so it cannot advertise something your plan will not open.

Questions

Does it handle part-exchange?
Yes. The trade-in is recorded as a purchase against the client and the piece enters stock with its own cost and VAT treatment, while the sale side settles separately.
Can it print a margin scheme invoice?
Yes, and it refuses to print a VAT figure on one. Notice 718 requires the invoice not to show VAT separately, and the treatment on the piece decides the wording rather than the person at the till.
Do I need a card terminal from you?
No. Milleso records what was paid and how, and takes nothing off your transactions. Card processing stays with whoever you already use.
